Battlefield bad company 2 multiplayer problem?

i log into battlefield bad company 2 pick my match type and the map, i hit join game and about an hour of playing mortal kombat while i wait later it's still searching, any ideas?Battlefield bad company 2 multiplayer problem?
Maybe it needs to update. Perhaps it was a very uncommon game type, such as squad rush on hardcore and there weren't any games playing. Try restarting your console.
