VIP status has no bearing on getting the Vietnam pack, as it is an expansion. It works a lot like getting Onslaught in that everyone has to buy it regardless if they're VIP or not.
On a side note, it looks like Vietnam is coming out on Dec. 18th for PC, so I can't expect it being too much longer for those on console.Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam Free for VIP?
Unfortunately, I don't think so, I have bad company 2 ultimate edition on the xbox 360, which entitles me to full VIP access, battlefield 1943, and onslaught mode; and I've downloaded a game package claiming to be an update for the game and it's titled Vietnam, and it has the Vietnam picture; followed by a VIP logo, so I guess it is free for game console users. People with pc's have full VIP access regardless of whether they have a code or not, but they still have to pay for Vietnam though, so I think it's best if you contact E.A/ Dice studios themselves to get a more definitive answer.

Same question I have with no definitive answer. I just downloaded an update titled vietnam multiplayer [sic] which was like 1.7 gb in size and considering that I think vietnam is basically a "skin" for BBC2, that may be it. If so, does that me it will unlock on December 21st?
