You will unlock them all eventually in the normal version but depending on how long you can play each night could mean weeks or months pass before you can select them from your load out. The PC version tracer dart unlock is quite high at 9 or 10 (was originally 12) and will probably be the most wanted unlock of them all whereas on the PS3 it unlocks within hours at level 2.
Whether or not you really want them is a question of how you intend to play the game. It heavily relies on teamwork and if a member in your squad has the unlocked items then there is no real use in you having them. After all you can pick up dead team mates kits and utilise their unlocks until you die yourself or pick up another kit.
From playing both the PC and PS3 i can say teamwork occured more often than not on the PC version, that said there were games on the PS3 demo that the whole team worked together, each to our strengths.
Personally, i won't be buying the LE version as i feel there is more than enough to learn as it is and it will make you a much better soldier if you practice purely with your primary weapon first and then get in to using the perks.Do you need to reserve battlefield bad company 2 limited edition to receive the exclusive unlocks?

I don't think they are exclusive, you just get them for free instead of having to earn them.
