Is it really important to know your maps in battlefield bad company 2 and halo?

i feel like those are the shooters where maps matter where it's like even more than 50% of the game because if you know your maps you won't be vulnerable in the open on the big maps in bad company 2 and you'll know where the cover is in halo, is this true?Is it really important to know your maps in battlefield bad company 2 and halo?
I think it is important to know your maps in Halo, however not as much in BFBC2.



Halo has a rather linear gameplay. People spawn, run to the nearest rocket/sword/sniper/etc. and the killfest begins. This makes it important to know where said weapons are so you can fight over those and know what paths people will take to get them. However, in BFBC2, there is no competition for certain parts of the map because there is no one place that both teams can get to that spawns an overly powered weapons or vehicle. People go all over the maps.



Also, due to the size of BFBC2, you would probably drive yourself nuts trying to memorize every little building that every sniper tries to hide in on every map ;PIs it really important to know your maps in battlefield bad company 2 and halo?
For Halo and BFBC2 it is important to know a strategy and knowing some of the map is vital in this process. Dont memorize the map it will come naturally.Is it really important to know your maps in battlefield bad company 2 and halo?
in battlefield bad company 2 knowing the maps gives you a huge advantage. if you know ware snipers like to hide or ware you can rocket tanks with out being sean then you will do better then every one ells. same with halo or cod
