Is there prestige in Battlefield Bad Company 2?

is there prestige in Battlefield Bad Company 2 or anything like it. i know the top level is 50, but one of my friends said u can go bronze, then go silver then gold and all of my other friends say this is a lie can u please tell which one is trueIs there prestige in Battlefield Bad Company 2?
There is no prestige once you're 50 you're 50. The weapons get bronze at 25, silver at 50 gold at 100 then it continues every 100 up to 1000 which is platinum and that's the end.Is there prestige in Battlefield Bad Company 2?
The bronze, silver, gold and platinum is earned for vehicles and weapons. Each number of kills adds to that weapon's total. Level 50 is the top and that's all.

im only at level 19 so not sure. i have seen lots of other players with the same ensignias , except some are bronze, silver or gold through so id assume you can
